2017 Jeep Compass Body Structure & Frame Utilizes 65% Percent High-Strength Steels

27th February 2017

The all-new 2017 Jeep Compass 4×4 SUV has been launched and makes extensive use of high-strength steels to improve performance and save vehicle weight.

The upper body structure and frame are engineered as a single unit for a stiff and more mass-efficient structure. As well as extensive use of high-strength steels, the frame utilizes structural adhesives, a technique which can also lead to weight saving thanks to the decreased amount of metal fastenings used throughout the vehicle.

Jeep states that the Compass’ body and frame uses more than 65 percent high-strength steel which helps to maximize vehicle dynamics and crash performance while optimizing weight.
