HAECO Saves Aircraft Seat Weight with TeXtreme Carbon Fiber

Oxeon has announced that after several years of simulation and testing within the aero market, its TeXtreme spread tow carbon fiber reinforcements have been certified for use in commercial aerospace applications and qualified by a leading aircraft manufacturer.

Hong Kong based aircraft engineering and maintenance group, HAECO, needed a material that would reduce weight and thereby enable significant savings in fuel costs for the airlines. The company selected TeXtreme to help optimize their current seat design for weight, while still maintaining mechanical properties. The use of TeXtreme, in combination with simulation and manufacturing support, has helped HAECO to reduce the weight of the aircraft seat by almost 20%.
